Kelleys Island History Museum & Gift Shop
Just a short walk from downtown is our gem of a history museum. We don’t just display artifacts, we tell their story which makes it so much more interesting. The history of this Island community is so very unique. You can read a little about our history HERE
The entire Island is on the National register of Historic Places. We display documents from the 1700s, artifacts from the 1800s, fossils and Native American artifacts. The museum’s campus includes our historic stone church which was built in 1966 and the Parsonage Resale Shop next door. The best part though, are the stories, and our displays and stories change every year.
Inside the museum is a real gem for shoppers. Our Museum Gift Shop is jam packed with loads of interesting items, from books about the Island’s history to exotic wind chimes, there is a great children’s’ section and an array of unique and interesting items to keep you busy for quite a while. It is so worth the stop.
Admission to the museum is just $5.00 for the family and you can explore the church for free.
The Kelleys Island Historical Assoc. was formed in 1980 and has dedicated itself to collecting and sharing this Island’s history.
Come see what a great job we are doing.
