Beginning with a short ride on the Kelleys Island Ferry, Natalie promptly heads to The Village Pump for a bite to eat. Brandi Alexanders are served alongside the Pump’s famous perch basket. After lunch, it’s time for desert! Papa T’s Custom Ice Cream has 100 flavors of ice cream along with shakes, flurries and sundays. It’s an ideal place to cool down on a hot summer day. And right next door is Kelleys Landing. A local shop with a large selection of gifts and souvenirs. It’s also a great place to rent a bike or golf cart. Both are unique ways to explore the island!
Away from downtown, Natalie discovers Kelleys Island Wine Co. It’s an established business with a great new addition, The Cantina. This Mexican themed eatery, features burritos, tacos, and of course, margaritas. The location boasts a large outdoor sitting area with corn hole, horseshoes, children’s play area & more. Inside, the winery has an exciting selection of local wines and delicious entrées.
Portside Marina is next on the list. The marina is home to Dockers Waterfront Restaurant & Bar . Here, you’ll find outdoor seating for food, drinks, entertainment, and amazing sunsets. All just a stone’s throw from the lake!
After a quick stop at Glacial Grooves Geological Preserve, Natalie heads back downtown to The Casino. After more food, fun, and nightlife, there’s still time for a quick stop at Bag the Moon. Here, a delicious strawberry shot makes for a perfect way to end the day!
Natalie returns to Bag the Moon for breakfast, and learns about their extensive menu and late-night grill. The grill’s most popular menu item? The Turd Burger.
Well fed and ready for day two, Natalie returns to Portside Marina for a closer look. The marina offers a wide variety of docking options and a fun environment. Boaters who frequent the area know, it’s a great place for the whole family!
Emphasizing how friendly Kelleys Island is, Natalie heads out to meet a local owner at Sweet Valley Pitte Stoppe. Besides just shopping, the location also includes a wide variety of bike rentals. Options include children’s bikes, tag-along bikes, mountain bikes, and carriage bikes. That’s just to name a few!
With the day winding down, there’s time for one last stop. It’s West Bay Inn, where free docking, an outdoor tiki bar, live entertainment, and well maintained recreational area are just some of the highlights. A perfect way to end the evening before catching the next ferry back to Marblehead.
