The family campground at Kelleys Island State Park contains 45 non-electric and 84 electric sites, showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. During the summer season, two Rent-A-Camp units for groups and two Yurts, complete with an efficiency kitchen, bath with shower and furnished living area, are available. Pets are welcome at designated sites. Other campground amenities are showers, flush toilets and a dump station. The 100-foot swimming beach, volleyball court and playground.
With the option of a rent a tent and yerts, Camping on Kelleys Island is an option even for the most novice of campers. Rent a tent sites offer a camping stove, cots, a cooler, a lantern, and sleeping pads. Yerts offer an Efficiency kitchen, bath with shower, furnished living area with TV/DVD player, outdoor grill, sundeck, fire ring, and cookware. Linens and housekeeping are not provided at the rent a tent and yerts. Camping also offers an inexpensive way to stay on Kelleys Island Only minutes from the beach, and often with a lake view. For the last minute traveler, the state park offers a limited amount of “walk-in sites” that are only available to customers showing up at the office.
The camp grounds are located near several nature trails and a beautiful public beach. Some campsites as well as the yerts are beachfront. There is a public fishing pier and a boat ramp within walking distance of the campground, where you can launch your boat or drop a fishing line in the water. Ohio fishing licenses are required and can be purchased online here. Kayak and longboard rentals are offered at the public beach and are a fun and energetic way to explore the north shore of Kelleys Island.
