KELLEYS ISLAND
OUTDOOR FILM FESTIVAL
Three nights of free films under the stars...
The
LaFarge Kelleys Island Outdoor Film Festival enters its second year
with a blockbuster schedule! Last year we entertained over 3000
people, and once again, admission is FREE for all!
“Thanks to our
generous sponsors, we are so proud that the festival is back, and
that we can again provide these great outdoor film experiences
absolutely free of charge,” said festival co-producers Alan Glazen
and Jackie Finger.
The festival
raised over $4,000 for Kelleys Island emergency services and for the
Kelleys Island Audubon Society last year, and will continue to
donate 100% of all contributions to these fine organizations.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8
- ET -
1982 (2002
Special Edition Cut)
Directed by
Stephen Spielberg
Starring Henry
Thomas, Dee Wallace, Drew Barrymore, Robert MacNaughton
This is the film
that changed everything. It beat STAR WARS’ box office record, and
is absolutely one of----if not THE best family film ever made. “ET
go home” was on the lips of every child in America, and brought
tears of joy to everyone in every theater. Never has the word
“ouch” touched more hearts, and rarely has an alien creature been
portrayed in such a positive, heart-felt manner.
SATURDAY, AUGUST
9 (early show) - GREASE
(1978)
Directed by
Randal Kleiser
Starring John
Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, Frankie Avalon, Sid
Caesar
Music by The Bee
Gees and Frankie Valli
This is the one
that everyone wants, over and over again. On Broadway, in theaters
throughout the world, on television, everywhere, GREASE is still
“the word!” We’re all still “hopelessly devoted,” and it’s no
surprise. GREASE was the number one soundtrack album throughout
the world, and many consider it the best musical in history. The
world “goes together” with GREASE and always will. Seeing it
outside on a giant screen is going to be amazing!
SATURDAY, AUGUST
9 (late show) -
CASABLANCA
(1941)
Directed by
Michael Cortiz
Starring Humphrey
Bogart, Ingrid Berman, Paul Henreid
Considered by
many to be the greatest cinematic achievement of all time, most of
today’s audiences have never seen Casablanca on a large screen. It
won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay in the 1941
Oscars. Casablanca has been televised more often than any picture
ever. “Here’s looking at you kid,” “Play it, Sam, play it,” and “As
Time Goes By” are some of the most memorable lines in the history of
film. In short, Casablanca is a masterpiece, perhaps second only to
“Citizen Kane” as the best feature film ever made.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 10
- SHREK (2001)
Directed by
Andrew Adamson/Vicky Jenson
Starring (voices)
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, John Lithgow, Vincent Cassel
“The greatest
fairy tale never told” was the first film to win an Oscar for “Best
Animated Feature,” and is considered by some as second only to “ET”
as best family picture ever. It was nominated for over 44 major
awards, and won an amazing 29! Critically acclaimed as a
thoroughly entertaining and inspiring family film, “SHREK” is a
delight, standing alone in its appeal to people all ages.
